Well we have only just made civil unions legal. Since we started debating it at the same time as other countries were debating gay marriage, I feel that this indicates a lack of support for full blown marriage which is a shame and therefore it may be a few years off despire the recent success in the UK.

I'm uncertain how states work in America but I thought the you could just go to Massachusetts, get married and then move back? But then I guess Georgia would not recognise your married status. That is very weird and sucks . I hope they sort it out soon! I have not heard anything about Georgia on the gay marriage map as it were, is there much support for it there or is it simply not discussed?

There is strong opposition here. They voted to amend the state constitution to make it illegal, actually. And because of DOMA, we can't just get married in Mass. and come back to Georgia.
