He tells the writer what he wants before the speech is written. Then he reads it over and makes any changes he deems necessary. Then It’s approved and he reads it.

What is it about that process that confuses you? Don’t tell me you think Bush is just a puppet and Karl Rove is pulling all the strings.

Let´s drop the condesending attitude now. What I said still holds true- Bush doesn´t write them, the speech writer does. It´s like making a baby, who does more work? The guy has his input, but the woman has nine months to make the child.

I sincerely doubt your friend was denied money for the reasons you stated. Your friend either didn’t qualify under the rules and guidelines or didn’t fulfill a requirement. There is plenty of grant money available for all who need it.

He was getting it fine until funding was cut to it.

That´s a lovely speech there. So what else has he done besides run his mouth about it?

Only congress has the authority to spend money. SS will run out of money if taxes are not raised and we are overtaxed as it is.

And Congress did elect him.

When did Bush ever claim that our war in Iraq was going to stop global terrorism? It has stopped terrorism in this country as evidenced by the lack of attacks after 9-11. That is an excellent accomplishment, which indicates that Bush is not only doing his job, but doing it quite well.

Now you are starting to get why we are in Iraq. Better to fight them there than here.

Still waiting on reply about why NetDoc thinks that the US Armed Forces are terrorists. Oh, and I remember, England, Australia and others are there too!!! Does that make them terrorists as well? I'm sure they would like to know how you feel about it.

Engaging in an unprovoked (arguably illegal) attack? Using banned incinderies on civilians? Kidnapping and torturing civilians? Violence and intimidation for political and economic ends?

These seem applicable, and I would associate this behaviour with terrorists.

I don't think I ever called our troops terrorists. Please don't put words in my mouth. I did say I could understand how the OCCUPIED countries could see us as such. The only terrorist that is a US citizen is SHRUB. He has caused death and destruction in search of PROFITS for Haliburton. Our troops are merely obeying his heinous orders.

Honeslty I think the politics come first to the buisness. Getting money to Haliburton and other companies can't be accomplished the way they want unless war and fear are used to keep the right wing in the Government.

The Soviets tried to invade Afghanistan and the USA funded money and weapons to local militias in the area to fend off the Soviets. They were succesful in fending off the Soviets and guess who was part of that... Osama Bin Laden and the Taliban.

The USA funded money and weapons to Iraq to fight against Iran which was being funded by the Soviets. So many of Saddam's weapons and power came from ourselves.... came from the American Tax payer.

North Korea is a problem because of the mistakes me made in the Korean war... as a result we have to deal with what we left... so do the Citizens of North Korea and the great atrocities occuring there. Kim Jong II is very much like Joseph Stalin. The North Korean government is more keen on Attacking the USA then Iraq probably ever was. North Korea DOES have nukes. All they need to do is hand it to some Islamic terroists and when the flames raise up in America then Korea can easily claim to be clean of the whole thing.

Quite a few of the conflicts in South America and Africa were also caused by the Soviets and the USA funding certain groups. So most of the weapons there are payed from both of those sides.

now.... HERE is the biggest point in how the Cold War gave birth to the War on Terrorism. The USA and the USSR were in an Arms race. Creating Nuclear, Biological and all sorts of other WMDS. Then, mostly for economic reasons, the USSR fell. This basically allowed for much of the WMDs and other weapons that the Soviets had to be for sale on the Black Market. Soviet Generals would prefer to sell them and live comfortable then just let them sit there while they suffered from a collapsed government.

I am of the opinion that North Korea developed the nuke to deter US from attacking her, as well as as a weapon of blackmail to get economic aids when she needs it
Remember, there is no cease fire between the North Korea and US/South Korea since the war half a century ago. Technically these two countries (or two and a half, since I do not consider South Korea as an independent country if it cannot defend herself and has to rely on US, on paper South Korea is just a puppet Government) are still at war....
