I tend to agree with Eewred on this one, saddam murdered thousands upon thousands of his own people, using some biological weapons like botox and VX nerve gas (i know that some people say we gave them these and others say we didn't, so i really dont know. but i think it would be kind of hard to reate your own VX), and when he died, the regime would go to his sons, who would probabally carry on the genocide their father started. It was right to depose Saddam, but we toppled his regime and declared Mission Accomplished, like, two years ago. If we had mission accomplished two years ago, why are we still there? I'm going to wait for input from both sides of the fence.

Saddam Hussein could have been ridden of without a full scale invasion.

The only country to successfully use a WMD that was designed just for that was the US.
Al Queda used some planes. Sadamn was evil but so is Kim out of N Korea. He has real WMDs. Darfur is just plain wrong. So why are we in Iraq? It's Haliburton's war. He is getting rich because he convinced Shrub to attack a nation that had not attacked us. There were no terrorist attacks on us originating from Iraq. But they have oil, and Haliburton thirsts for oil. He is consumed by it. And he has mastered Shrubology... just like those shrubs at Disney World that are shaped into many different characters, he has shaped Shrub to his liking. Smart man. Way dangerous and evil: but very smart.

I echo Feather's comment:-" *worried look* Eewred, you're getting kind of personal. Please be more gentle." That's puting it mildly; you replied to Seyorni:-" I've come to expect nothing less that a bunch of gobberish from you. " Rule 5. of the forum rules reads:- While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. We will allow faith to be debated and discussed by a member only when there is no hostile, rude, or insulting opinion of another's faith. Our decision is final in these matters. I think you will have no problem understanding that what you wrote to Seyorni was 'out of bounds'.... It has to be every member's aim to debate or pass comment in such a way as to have his/her say, without falling foul of rule 5. which, when you think about it, is not difficult. I would also like to mention that your:- "I blame Saddam for this. I blame terrorism for what is happening now. Have you read the reports of the mass murders in Fallujah by the insurgents? I blame liberalism and liberal mentality for the ridiculous arguments and their attempts to polarize a country, when what is needed is a unifying attitude to finish the job, stabilize a country, end terrorism and bring our brave men and women home." may well be your opinion, and there is nothing wrong with expressing your views . The troule with criticism though is that it needs to be constructive; I wonder how you think :-"when what is needed is a unifying attitude to finish the job, stabilize a country, end terrorism and bring our brave men and women home."can be translated into action; perhaps you could explain how you personally think this could be achieved? ![]()

For those who are interested in facts.... According to a USA Today/Gallup poll (which can be found here: http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/i...q-findings.htm ), 42% of Iraqis think Iraq is "much better" or "somewhat better" off now than it was before the invasion, 17% think it's "about the same", and 39% think it is "somewhat worse off" or "much worse off". If by "Iraqis overwhelmingly agree" you meant "39% of Iraqis overwhelmingly agree", then yes you are correct. Interestingly, when asked "Thinking about any hardships you might have suffered under the US/British invasion, do you personally think that ousting Saddam was worth it or not?" 61% of Iraqis say "Worth it" and 28% say "Not worth it". This leads me to believe that many Iraqis think they are personally better off but many believe, because of what they see/read in the media, that other Iraqis are worse off. (Note that most Iraqis, as surveyed in this poll, follow Al-Iraqiya, Al-Arabia, and Al-Jazeera, but very few follow the BBC or CNN.) Quote:
