Democracy in Iraq... (Kingdom, tradition, blood, choice, America)

I'm highly skeptical of the notion that we can impose a democracy on Iraq. They have no democratic traditions there at all. What makes us think that they can manufacture a democracy overnight?

Well the US and other Western nations have an undoubted aptitude at removing democracies overnight, why not the reverse of that magic trick?

We promised we would if and when. Remember in 1998, Conress passed the "Iraqi Liberation Act" proposed and signed by Bill Clinton. In 2000 before Bush even took office. The Iraqi National Congress was requesting assistance in possible reasons why the Iraqi people and other parts of the world may be threatened. Which is why THEY requested for the UN for assistance and support in overthrowing Saddam. The UN asked on what basis do we officially have to support the Iraqi Liberation Act and go there to overthrow a world leader? WEll the only thing we or the non-Saddamists of Iraq could push for was they knew about illegal weapons being produced. This went from "Unaproved Weapons," to Chemical Weapons, to possible WMDs. They claim that Saddams desire to produce the weapons were for use of possible threats against Iran and Israel. This is where it gets intersting, 2 Airplanes crash into US buildings(and we all know what 3 buidings they are) on the same day. It wasn't until the next day that Bin Laden was announced as suspect #1, and a week until he broadcasted a video taking credit for this "Victory" against the USA. So with the US being at highest security, Bush's plan of action was deploying troops into Kandahar and to work their way around in an attempt to "Strike War On Terrorism" and bring Al Qaeda down. At that time nobody knew how long this would take, the hunt for specifically one man shouldn't take that long when you have an army going after him. Nobody really knew that Osama was going to be alive today. We finally got the UN to look into Iraq being a possible threat now since we now had our troops very close to Iraq, this was becoming serious to us and them since we were protesting to the UN for the last year about Iraq and turning over weapons that could be used against international law for humanitarian concerns(Geneva Convention.) The UN agrees to send an approved staff to research possible WMD. Now this is where most people get ticked off. George Bush can't shut up about there being WMDs, the Iraqi Councilmen assured him that they would use them against the US if they had to. Well rookie President handled this poorly and spread the exaduration of their word, and he took credit for knowing this information as an insider aswell(idiotic move #2.) But the American people were very submissive to anything drastic that we had to do to keep safe at that time. While our intel also noted that Al Quaeda was interested in finding these chemical and biological weapons to use against us(and they were very much so interested in this) we couldnt take no for an answer just incase Al Qaeda knew something Hans Blix or the US didnt. After Blix's investigation and he proposed "Their are no WMDs in Iraq" but the US had its own dillema. Between not taking intel serious enough as far as 9-11 and this situation, should it take intel seriously and go to Iraq to prevent terrorists from finding them first. Well we all knew what happened there. Good ol' Bush was the frontrunner on pressing the WMD instead of explaining more why we choose to invade. Go figgure, you cant invade w/o starting another war, so best plan was to overthrow Saddam, which, at the time, was what Iraqis generally wanted, but wanting this unknowing of the long term effect. We captured Baghdad and Saddam and this opened up a 1/2 defense, 1/2 search tactic, while remaining on the offensive for any terrorsit groups trying to stop us(which they were of course.)
About a year we invaded, warheads, mustard gas, sarin gas were all found by the Polish Army. All the stuff Hans Blix claimed couldnt find(he couldnt find his way out of a paper bag, so thats great that we had little alternative as far as whos report to trust.) Although all illegal weapons, non were weapons of mass destruction, arguably they could be, but technically they weren't. So Bush looks like an idiot yet again, while he could have not been a politician for once, trying to exadurate the situation, he didn't. So he's still eating his words in this so-called never ending search.

Now why we're still over in Iraq and what made us go there in the first place are 2 diffrent things to me. I agree with everyone who says we'r
