Most of us don't know the president personally, so what we know about him is reported on the very same tv, ads, in addition to radio and news in print. Since what the president does affects more people the a person's local senator, most of the coverage is on him. You are correct however in asserting that one shouldn't expect change without some sort of action.

I have personally written many letters to congressmen and the president, however unlike you, the majority of answers I received were automated responses and my name was added to a monthly mailing list that pointed out the current accomplishments of the congressman. Not to say you haven't, but I personally have never received a handwritten response.

I don't think anyone here is saying that Bush is evil. Bush believes that God is on his side, and so does Tony Blair, Hussein, Bin Laden, and a bunch of other "leaders" today.

I hope you realize from the rest of my post that I've taken mine off. It's just that I heard so many Republicans throw around the word 'evil' when talking about Bill Clinton, so when I hear Democrats use it referencing Bush, my knee-jerk reaction is that it's little more than partisan politics. As for you assessment of Sheehan: that is typical of most Republicans that I have met. Discount anyone who disagrees with you as being "looney toons". I don't remember hearing you bemoan the "agenda" of the Swift Boat Veterans when they were spewing their crap. In fact, I don't recall much condemnation coming from the near or far right for their highly orchestrated smear campaign.

If the president really believed that this war was just, he WOULD have sent his own kids. He doesn't mind sacrificing others for Haliburton's War... as long as he and his homies rake in the profits, he's willing to live with it.
