most people i see protesting the war care about our troops and want them back home, they dont like the reasons for war. At least, thats how it is in Marin. Thats why i have a yellow ribbon, i support this countries troops. I just hope we pull out soon, so no more people will die.

No, you don't have it straight. Try reading it again.
The guarantee of free speech doesn't preclude your own personal liability for what you say. Aiding the enemy's war effort is unpatriotic, not the fact that you are exercising your right to do it.

Massive protests during the Viet Nam war emboldened the North Vietnamese to ratchet up their war effort. They could see the damage that the protestors were having on the American’s will to fight. They encouraged as much unrest as they could because they saw it being highly effective. Jane Fonda going to Hanoi and kissing up to our enemy was guaranteed by the first amendment, but was also the pinnacle of traitorous stupidity.

I would prefer we were not in Iraq fighting insurgents right now. I would love for all our boys to be able to come home. However, we are in a war and Iraq is the battleground. While our soldiers are in battle, I am going to support them as much as I can. This war is not going to end soon.

If Cindy Sheehan had a clue, she would fold up her tent and go home. She is harming the war effort buy publicly expressing her anger and resentment for the President and the war in Iraq. She is not helping any of the guys that are still in theater get home one day sooner. A divided house cannot stand and she is creating division.

Cindy Sheehan needs to shut up and go home.

If you disagree with the reasons for the invasion, that is fine. Granted it is irrelevant to the situation we are in, but I am not going to hold that opinion against you. My problem arises, when you and others keep rambling on about the reason the war began, and take the focus off of completing the mission and being successful. That is what the focus needs to be now. To waste your time and energy over the simantics of why we went there, is in no way constructive to the mission at hand, regardless of whether or not you are right. And, believe it or not, the enemy and our soldiers notice protesters, and it has a negative effect for us and emboldens the bad guys to keep fighting. In fact, I would say that protesting the war creates for terrorist, not our foreign policy. Of course, that is about a loose a theory as your Haliburtin War theory. I don't think helping the enemy is the intent (not in your case anyway) but it is the effect. Trust me.

I'm not sure if any of us don't, Eewred. (And I'm sure that, in those terms, some people must wonder if my brain has been eating beans.)

I just wanted to say how wonderful it is that people are willing to be giving to one another and agree to disagree. You're displaying the heart of what RF stands for, in my opinion. (Mind you, in my opinion, RF also stands for the dancing, hula- hooping hamsters... But I think that last part might just be me.)
