Hi, everyone! As you know, I tend to stay away from anything involving direct conflict, so I'm hoping we can avoid this by my simply asking straight-away for this poll and any discussion that might ensue be completely restricted to those who voted for Bush in this last election. If the poll questions sound judgemental, please let me know and I'll try to edit them, or at least apologize for them.
I became interested in this topic after some discussion between family members about people's opinions about voting. If there is any debate, please let it be among those that voted for Bush and are disagreeing either about how they feel about doing so, or their reasons for doing so. Please no negative comments about or to anyone, personally. Now lemmie go round up some options...

I voted for Bush, and am very displeased with current events.
My main solace is that I would have also been very displeased with current events had Kerry been elected.

This was the first election where I've been old enough to vote. I voted for Bush. And now I don't pay attention to politics any more . (not like I did too much in the first place)

I'm in Oklahoma and had every intention of voting for Michael Badnarick, because I was appalled by how the Bush administration had handled things. I have been appalled since the Patriot Acts. When I got to the booth, however, the ballot had only Kerry and Bush on it and informed us that write-ins would not be counted.
So, if I was to vote, I was forced to choose between Bush and Kerry. Virtually every problem I had with Bush from the Patriot Acts and other legislation to the war in Iraq I also had with Kerry. The thing that tipped it for me, is that I am convinced Bush actually believes what he says, as abominible as it is, but with Kerry I saw him turn on the very things he voted for for political gain. My impression was that Bush throws away my liberties, because he subscribes to an ideology, but Kerry will do so for little more than to accrue support in whatever the current political climate. Given the above, I had to decide: which is more likely to jack up my liberties the worst. I decided that Kerry would be since he supports legislation that benefits himself at the moment almost completely regardless of moral and ideological concerns and did so quite vigorously even where it threw away liberties. That, to me, is more dangerous than someone who does it for ideology. In the end, I wasn't pleased with Bush going in. I wasn't pleased with Bush afterward. And I feel that the state of Oklahoma has robbed me of any meaningful votes by banning any form of write-in. I don't like being forced to have the options of not voting or choosing between Rep. and Dem. So, right now, I'm pretty ****** at the OK electoral board, and I have been for some months. I am just as displeased with the current administration, but I feel that I would be more displeased with the Kerry administration. It's all very frustrating.

Like N*os, I voted for Bush, because the alternative would've been worse in my opinion. While Bush has definitely screwed up in many ways, I'd much rather have someone in office who stands by his convictions, than someone who changes his mind every other week. Some backbone is better than none. It's a little more reassuring.
But, I hate politics, and am disgusted with politicians, in general. Ughhh.

We have a joke in my family...that it wouldn't matter if my parents voted or not, because their votes cancel each other out XD. True again in this election...my mom voted Bush, dad voted Kerry.

Now, this election she was completely free to vote as she chose going into the booth, so I went with her. She hadn't ever had the freedom to really do it, after all. Going in there, I made a joke about the above situation, and told her, "I'll vote for Bush if you'll vote for Badnarik." She, of course, took it as the joke it was and turned it down. However, when I found out that I had to choose between Kerry and Bush, she made it very clear while we were leaving that she had the last laugh .

Ahhh, American politics.
Why is the choice always between the lesser evil? I HAVE NEVER VOTED FOR BUSH .I don't need to give a reason as it is self-explanatory.
