I know this is not the main point of the thread, but you asked about why the negative reaction to O'Reilly, Spinks. For me, it's more about his personality. I know he's allowed to have his shows any which way he wants to, and that the goal of any show nowadays is to gain as many viewers as possible, but I suppose the real reason I dislike his shows is because of his rudeness. He shouts down guests, I have yet to see him apologize for when he's misreported something (again, not having watched his show in quite a while, I could be wrong about this) and because he basically just strikes me as a bully. That doesn't bother me when people like you are watching, since you've got the intelligence and the will to do research to see if what he's saying is true, but I suppose I'm a bit bothered that other people might take him at his word.

That's just not fair, Saw-- we don't know whether those allegations are legitimate or not. A man like O'Reilly has a lot of people who would love to humiliate him in some way....just because someone accused him of sexual harassment doesn't mean he sexually harassed someone.

There is a large segment of the public for which "fair and balanced" means little more than pro Republican, or pro war, or pro administration. That is, those people believe something is fair and balanced when it's slanted towards their own views on the subject. I think they need a remedial education in reasoning.

I watch his show sometimes but I personally think he is very rude, selfish, and a hypocrite.
