Then 4 years in he makes a decision based on the advice of her treating physician and suddenly - against the medical evidence - he wants her dead because he abused her. Why didn't he want her dead before then, if this was the case?
This document should be required reading for anyone who has gone out and read all the propaganda wrapped up with this case and believed it.
I used to feel sorry for the Schindlers...now I'm sad to say I think they are behaving in a disgraceful fashion that is neither motivated by a hope for recovery nor by what they truly believe their daughter would want.

If the assessment of the neurologists is correct, Mrs Schiavo's situation is comparable to a disembodied arm or leg being kept alive by life-support. The brain areas responsible for conscious awareness are atrophied and non-functional. Would the religious right support the maintenance of a disembodied leg? Probably not -- inasmuch as there is no conscious awareness associated with a femur. Why, then, do they want to maintain the body of a woman dead and unconscious x 15 years?

well its the same case, why keep a person, deteriorated from alzheimer's disease? they lack any capacity to think. to think... is that the character which defines if a person must live or not? they do not have the potential to grow....

lets exterminate all alzheimer people!
