If I decide not vote for Bush I will consider voting Libertarian and I was just wonder what people think of this party. It is a pro-capitalism party that values individual rights. Check out their website and let me know what you think! I look forward to your answers.

I like their views. Michael Badnarik is their President candidate. He's seems like a pretty sharp fellow.

Although I am still doing some research my eyes are open to anyone who shows true patriotism for our country.

Libertarianism is okay as an ideal, but the simple truth is that there are some things we need government for. One thing I greatly disagree with the libertarians on is the need for public education. My public education has provided me with countless opportunities and an excellent general education. I do not believe that private schools can offer the sort of programs that my 2800 student high school offered, such as a nationally competitive marching band, 100-piece orchestra, Amnesty International club alongside a Conservative Student Union, auto shop alongside vector calculus and differential equations, three levels of football teams, a club that has mentally disabled children hanging out with unhandicapped classmates, a Christian club alongside a Jewish club and Muslim club, a Black Student Union and MECHA...the list could go on. I think that private schools by necessity specialize in one thing or the other, and public schools provide more things to more people. This is not even adressing the issue of low-income families who rely on public education.

Other things we need government to provide: public land stewardship, fire fighting service, public parks and swimming pools, corporate oversight, stewardship of public resources (i.e. radio frequencies, water resources), providing independent researchers with money, etc.

Finally, on a purely ideological level, I strongly disagree with the libertarian party's stand on gun control. To sum this argument up: if guns were outlawed, only outlaws would shoot their kids accidentally.

The more I read about the Libertarian Party, the more I realize my views on just about everything lines up with their positions. The problem is that the Dems and the Reps are so entrenched that they conspire to keep third parties from gaining a foothold. Maybe one day.....

*IF ANYTHING Im a very republican minded person, but not a republican. Unfortunately this decieves people, since republicans do not do things the republican way. Libertarian system is in theory great, but the problem is that most people that view it as a prime alternative to the other corrupt parties. I would happily jump on the bandwagon if the Libertarian party had the structure to not become as corrupt as the existing parties.

But I believe more-so in the humblist party, its a combonation of socialism and capitalism, but its more as if each position is given its checks and ballances. Which shares many views with Libs. I wish I had more information on it, but it was derived from philosophers and einstien more than politicians.

I love the Libertarians, they want to legalize pot and do away with IRS. They got my vote. But like said previously, the R and D have monopolized the political arena.

Is it time for this? Our forefathers were smart enough to see this coming.
