I Lost Myself

I lost myself to the moon again;
Shining, deep, dark it floated
On the swaying sea.

I - entangled in grass and wine -
Allowed myself the simple ecstasy
Of becoming lost in a moment.

And,

Encumbered by desire,
I grew fitful, and imagined myself
Rotting in darkness and wine.

Desolation.

Existentially I yearned.
But in the swaying sea I saw myself
Floating on nothing but Time.

I lost myself to the dark again;
On the grass as my bottle spilled,
And stained the ground blood-red.
