I am taking a philosophy class on Nietzsche. I was hoping some of you could give me a little summary of what you know about him.

All I know is that he said god existed, but he is dead. We humans killed him, for he choked on pity for us. That is all I remember from philosophy class.

Could be, But I think he did actually say that. I personally don't think it works, for even is god did exist, god would have to be perfect. And not even perfect pity could kill a perfect thing. Thats my opinion though. I don't know much else about him.

Um, I think what he meant was more that there was no longer a need for God as an explaination with science come along, not so much that God actually died. His point was more, "Get over it!" He really didn't like religion, as I recall.
Mind, it's been a few years since I studied this (and in very little depth), so there's a good chance I'm wrong. |

That may have been his soul idea, but he had to argue his point philisophically. And I think that was the reason he gave. I will do more research later.
