Default What is unnatural?

Not my first time asking this question. And was considering this post in Philosophy sub forum or "The Material World" sub forum, which may help you understand what I'm getting at. I settled on philosophy subforum, and hope that is okay.

Anyway, I am one who can show up stubborn about certain claims of "unnatural" and am interested in this discussion / debate.

To me the inquiry is rather simple, can you name anything in the physical world (universe) that is unnatural? If yes, please elaborate on why it is not natural in your understanding.

Long term planning in hominids.
Oh, and shaving, of course.

Like most issues of semantics, it depends on how you define your terms. In this case how you define natural.

No, everything physical / objective is a natural occurrence of an ordered sequence of events. The objective universe is the natural universe.

Our mind / imagination / Psyche on the other hand is truly the unnatural universe and exists outside and apart of the objective universe.

Music for example, begins with the desire to express an emotion / state of consciousness. The moment this process begins, it has separated from the subjective / unnatural universe and has begun its manifestation, or Fall, into a material / physical rendering in order for others (as well as the composer) to experience. In other Words it is now a part of the natural universe, though it began as something unnatural.

The Online Oxford Dictionary provides this as (one of) its explanation(s):

"existing in or derived from nature; not made or caused by humankind"

in which case it would be easy to name numerous things that are unnatural.
This goes hand in hand with (one of) its definition(s) for the word 'unnatural'

"not existing in nature; artificial".

Yet, if it is a material thing, then it is part of the 'Natural' universe and made up of Principles of Energy.

No argument there.
But the distinction between 'man-made' and 'not man-made' might be useful in some respects I guess.

Default What is unnatural?

- Bacon made from tofu
- DOS
- Meat grown in a test tube
- Fake boobs
- Bruce Jenner's face
- Twinkies
- Any conversation in a David Mamet script

Now I ain't say'n these things are bad....actually, David Mamet & fake boobs are pretty enjoyable....not in the same way.
