Hi mate,

There is an excellent website that provides free books.

Heathen Gods - Temple Library

You'll probably find some recommendations for purchasing books there as well or on the forum.

fruballs! absolutely wonderful....

I'm looking at the two Our troth books and the 3 TYR Myth-Culture-Tradition books...

He's a 6ft 2 german swede american dude....

We're also thinking of getting him Futhark: A Handbook of Rune Magic by Edred Thorsson

also...am thinking of including Walkers Between the Worlds: The Western Mysteries from Shaman to Magus by caitlin and john matthews http://www.amazon.com/Walkers-Betwee...6301882&sr=1-1 Not sure if this is suitable or not, I have a copy, that I havent read for a few years...so I am goign to reread it.

I have also bought him a copy of the viking game that I used to play as a child Hnefatafl

any thoughts? thanks

Nice Chess set!

That's a lot of reading!

I'm not really an expert, it was just something I was looking at for a while.

I've heard good things about Our Troth, just haven't read them.

Its not actually a chess set, its a precursor to chess....

the game is played in that the black have to surround the white king on all four sides (in a cross),...and the whites have to get their king to a corner... there are no diagnol movements, and all the pieces can move any amount of squares except for the king that can only move one square.

I think thats correct, I havent played it in over 20 years!
