Our friend Fish-Hunter has graciously agreed to join me in a one-to-one conversation, when he is ready. This isn't a debate so much as a back and forth conversation on any matter.
My own feeling is that nothing speaks more about the power of one's beliefs than the story of one's life. So when you get a chance, Fish-Hunter, I'd like to start by hearing your witness. Tell me a little bit about where you come from, what brought you to your current belief and practice, and the changes accepting Jesus as your Savior has brought in your life, how you think about yourself, your family and others. I'd also like to hear about what you do, your family, what interests you have . . . Feel free to ask me any question you like, and I will do my best to answer. Also, do you have a first name I can call you by, instead of your user login? Looking forward to our discussion and thanks for agreeing to join me. Brendan

Thanks for the one on one debate. I'm looking forward to our time together. I will start this thread at the end of the LDS Beliefs and Bible thread. I think that thread will keep going and going and going. Do you think official Moromon theology to be logical and rational?

Frankly, I've not had much success finding personal spiritual meaning in Mormon writings compared to my consideration of the writings and stories of other religious "traditions" . . . though obviously others have.

I appreciate your willingness to discuss personal experience as compared to a more objective discussion. I think pesonal experiences are not a good way to find absolute truth. Therefore, it's impossible for me to go there. Would you like to discuss basic and essential Christian doctrine? I know you were once Roman Catholic and Evangelical. Please let me understand your system of belief so I can understand your presuppositions, okay? I am coming from a historic Christian faith that can be summarized from monergism.com
