Huh? OK, let's try again. Something that's illegal is going to be more expensive than something that's legal, assuming all other circumstances are the same.

An ounce of weed goes for about 15 bucks depending on where you get it. In parts of LA you can buy Ecstasy for about 3 pills per 2$, in parts of Bellflower or Huntington Beach you could get Meth for about 5-10 bucks for a dime bag.

I'm going to have to doubt those numbers, considering my experience shows completely different ones.

If you compare what it takes to get high off of ecstasy, marijuana, or meth, to what it takes to get to get drunk on beer, then in a lot of cases it's cheaper to get high on ecstasy marijuana or meth.

So? Then get drunk off of rail vodka or something, if that's your only goal.

I know the research done. Like I said, I support legalization. I'm just saying that from my experience with the drug world, I can't say that legalization would do all the good that the research expects it will.

You are either not buying weed, getting something that is lower quality than ditch weed, or lying. 15 bucks will buy about 1/8 of an ounce, depending on quality and how much the dealer likes you. A full ounce easily runs over $100. Sometimes well over $200 for high quality. Myself, if someone offered an ounce for 15 bucks I would think they are trying to sell me something that isn't pot, they are a snitch, or a cop.

This is simply what I've found from talking to narco users/dealers. Weed varies highly because the quality of the weed affects the price.


A prostitute last week was arrested with three pills of ecstasy on her. We asked her how much she'd bought them for (the three total) and she said 2$. We were like, "Two bucks? Where'd you buy that?" she said, "In LA" (we were in the Compton area).

As for meth, in a place like Hawaiian Gardens it depends on the financial needs of the dealer and the ability of the seller to come up with money. In Huntington Beach meth will be a lot more expensive. In Bellflower you could get it for about 5-10 bucks.

I haven't had any experience with heroin users so I wouldn't be able to say about the price of it.

Marijuana is expensive. Really, really expensive. Just how many plants can you think of where a single gram of material can be easily sold for 10 bucks?

Sometimes you get transporters for the Mexican Mafia who try to rip off the Mafia by taking amounts out of the kilos they transport. When they sell it, they may not be experienced at selling weed and will sell it to kids at a pretty cheap price.

Some guy in my high school would grow his own weed and he sold it by the ounce for 20$.

The price depends on the dealer and the dealers sources.

Assuming those prices are actually prices people paid, they are not common prices at all. That's the point. I could probably buy a carton of cigarettes for $25 somewhere, but that's not a typical price. The average price would probably be more like $40 or more.

This I doubt. It does happen, but those that rip of the mob are either on the run, under witness protection, or dead. It's because of the Mexican drug cartels that any travelers are advised to stay in larger, tourist heavy cities. And do you really expect that a higher up mobster will entrust someone without experience to carry out such tasks?

It does. I use to be good friends with a dealer, and I'd get my pot destemmed, deseeded, and then weighed and I would pay half price. But unless your growing your own and selling to get gas in your tank and a pack of smokes, 15 bucks an ounce is just unheard of.
