Many of us have got off on a tangent. I agree, we need to focus on the OP.

If you have to continue to work to survive, you might not be rich.

If you cannot live anywhere you like, (any city) you might not be rich.

If you do not have complete control of your time, you might not be rich.

If you cannot afford a large boat or an airplane, you might not be rich.

If your retirement plan is not fully funded, you might not be rich.

If you cannot afford to travel anytime anywhere, you might not be rich.

If you cannot afford to give people a car or a home, you might not be rich.

If your house is small enough to clean by yourself, you might not be rich.

If you have never wrote a check that had six or seven zeros on it, you might not be rich.

So if I become a billionaire, and have a house that is only four rooms, no boat or jet, and a car that isn't a luxury car, then would I not be considered rich? As for work, even Bill Gates still works, and doesn't have full control of his time (or his operating systems.)
But honestly, even if I was super rich, I wouldn't want to live like it. Just a house big enough for all my future to have their own room and to afford to get them a good education, a car that runs good, no big boat but a small recreational boat would be nice, but the traveling to Europe is about the only thing on that list I want.
