Default Debate Running Commentary

The debate is on all the major networks and PBS right now. This thread provides us with a chance to discuss the debate as it happens.

I like the format. I like how the mod is trying to get them to "talk to each other."

So far, McCain is continuing to avoid explaining how giving tax breaks to the top will help all.

I wasn't aware of McCain's $5K health plan deal. Interesting.

McCain is reminding me of Bush. He is physically shifty when he talks and has a constant smirk on his face when Obama is talking.

A spending freeze????

More on Iraq.

Another fundamental difference between the two candidates.

FYI ... others are free to post if they're watching too.

Why was the surge wrong in Iraq when the commanders on the ground said the situation was getting worse, but a surge in Afghanistan would be right under the same circumstances?

Oh, let's throw in a growing war in Pakistan! And start another Opium War while we're at it. Never start a land war in Asia!

If Obama really were an anti-war candidate (supporting US neutrality), I could support him a lot easier.
