Also you talk about giving democracy to the Iraqi people. Who gave them Saddam in the first place?

Violence in Iraq is down at the present moment which is a wonderful thing for our military men and women and the Iraqi civilians. But we all know how the violence could have been completely avoided altogether...When will we ever learn to move away from our silly notions that war is the answer to all of our problems? We may learn, but by then it will probably be too late.

That's pretty much in line with what I've experienced (the soldiers' opinions) in my involvement with the troops. Thanks, mestemia. ![]() |

it was never really a war it was more of a security peace keeping operation remember there was no army or police force , left so the coalition had to take the role on ,if it succeeds and i beleive it will, then you will always have people who are never happy.there are lots of people who dont want it to succeed for lots of different reasons. and if we do succeed and the Iraqis can handle the security themselves not for a short time but for the long haul ,then dont start feeling good because the real war is going on in Afghanistan and that has to get bigger and tougher before that gets better. |

What’s the difference between a consultant, a lawyer and a theologian? Answer: a consultant borrows your watch and tells you the time. A lawyer borrows your watch, tells you the time, and keeps the watch as part payment of the fee. A theologian tells you the time, and suggests you adjust your watch. |

Oh, please. The Iraqi conflict isn't even remotely comparable to WW2.
