Al Gore has got that covered, Rev. Rick. They've changed it from "global warming" to "climate change".

No, global warming is a religion now. It is a belief that requires faith in the unprovable. A light is put on anything that backs the claims of global warming all the while ignoring any evidence to the contrary.

In my opinion, it's pretty clear that Al Gore is doing what he's doing because he's getting FILTHY RICH. Exactly what has he done that has impacted global climate change? How about the rain forests and animal extinction? I see those as WAY more important environmental issues. (Psst, the answer is MONEY.)
I still think the earth, in general, is warming, but INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH, so are the other planets in our solar system... huh.

Ya the global warming crowd is politically motivated, marxist/globalists mainly. Im not sure what their motives are, really. The easy answer is they want all western countries dependent on communist china for the worlds goods. China now produces 80% or so of the worlds goods and has a terrible pollution problem, but it seems with communists its ok for a communist country to be grossly destructive to the environment just because their politics are "superior" (which they arent).
Environmental issues in the People's Republic of China - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia What I find ridiculous is this new fad of "Green" everything has given us "hybrid" SUV's--lol, that get only 2-3 mpg better fuel efficiency than their considerably less expensive non-hybrid counterparts. And has anyone raised the question of how good is it for the environment to mass produce these huge batteries that go into hybrids and electric cars?----Do you have any idea how bad batteries are for the environment, not just to manufacture but to dispose of? WOW. Bad stuff, man. I seriously think anyone who buys the whole "lets go green, its helping the environment" , should get a reality check soon, before they start reversing the real improvements we have made in the last few decades. |

"Eco-friendly" is the next consumerism fad, encouraged of course, by Al Gore (and unsurprisingly NOT by environmentalists).

I've noticed that the weather is a bit nuts lately... seems to have happened so suddenly though. I imagine it's probably due to the media making a fuss about it for ratings.
I sometimes wonder if the government is just using global warming as a way to cut our dependence on oil producing nations. Oil is running out, that's what has me worried, not a bit of rain here and high wind there. With oil running low, what we need is technology based around an oil free philosophy. Hydrogen powered cars, nuclear power stations... these things will mean more freedom from oil rich nations and an economy boost to those nations who come up with the technology. |

As for this trend, it depends on how far back you look 1 year, cooling 200 years, warming 2000 years, cooling 10,000 years warming Go back as far as you want, and you get a nice little trend which supports whatever you want. Cost/benefit is dead in this area. |

I don't think I am right. I know I am not smart enough or powerful enough to change squat. I can recycle and plant trees though and maybe just maybe leave the planet a little better than I found it.
I just don't think anyone should be easily convinced one way or the other. I look at it like we are two fleas on a dog and think we can get the dog to run into town. Man has no more control over the planet than the fleas have on the dog. We still have a moral responsibility to treat the planet a little better however. I'm just not drinking Albert Gore's kool-aid.

And I'm sure the Nobel Prize Committee are a bunch of loony-tunes too. Not to mention the (Bush Administration) EPA--another group of whacked out conspiracy theorists. No, I think Fox News has the inside story on this one.
