To all those who want Obama, I have just one question, does the fact that he is friendly with the Weather Underground or the fact that he is friends with Farrakan (a known racist) or the fact he has a Cuban flag with Guevara on it hanging in his office? Why doesn't he put his hand over his heart during the national anthem? Why does he not wear an American flag pin on his lapel? These are not characteristics I would want in a president.

I fail to see the problem here. And the last two seem like really superficial reasons to dislike a candidate.

The lapel pin "controversy" is one of the dumbest things I've heard in ages. Honestly, what kind of half-wit would you have to be to think that a true patriot wears a flag lapel pin? (I've never seen McCain wearing one, either, as far as that goes.) Flag lapel pins are for ******** like Bush and Giuliani who have no substance and have to make a show of their supposed patriotism.

I took a lot of crap after 9-11 for refusing to wear a red, white and blue ribbon pin at work. I contended then and now that I don't have to wear any stupid ribbon or pin to show that I'm an American. The stupidity of it galls me.

This is the thing. I'm don't really care if he wears a lapel pin or not. He even has the right to not put his hand over his heart if he chooses. My biggest concern is he associations. I don't care that he was eight years old. So he should be old enough now to know NOT to associate with them. And the Farrakhan deal. Look, he's a member at a church where his pastor awarded a life time acheivement award for this man. This is Obama's Church. A church he still goes to. The award was voted on by it's members. Of course he's going to say he's against what Farrakhan thinks, he's a politician. But the fact remains, these are the associations he has chosen for himself. Keep in mind, I hold Hillary in a more negative light than Obama.
