The war in iraq is neither about WMD's (they knew they had been moved, so they will still be useful when we invade Syria), nor was it political---wanna make a bet the next president goes into iran or syria? even if its Obama, i bet we escalate.

This war has never been about terrorism though thats a convenient explanation---this is about China having a virtual monopoly on the world's energy supply when they complete their pipeline from iran. You dont really think the US was gonna let that happen do ya?

What sucks is they dont think the american people are grown up enough (or think the chinese too stupid to see) for them to say what its really about. Its all about power, never forget that. If you wanna get troops out now, better get that implausible water-driven car on the assembly line first, or you'll be payin 6 bucks per gallon for gas.

But to prevent it, then, we entered into an occupation of Iraq funded in large part by loans to our government from the government of the People's Republic of China. Our debt to the Chinese government has grown from $250 B to almost $1 TRILLION under Bush (and the total national debt now tops $9 trillion), giving the Chinese government significant power to manipulate our currency. If a chess game with China is really the purpose, the combination of fiscal and foreign policy incompetence of the neo-conservatives has already put us in a very weak position. Much longer with the interventions in the Middle East (as well as the tax cuts) and huge budget deficits that go along with it, and it'll be an easy "Checkmate" for the PRC.
