Yes, in my opinion porn hurts every life it touches. The level of destruction differs depending on the circumstances of course, but there absolutely nothing uplifting about pornography.

You opinion is not an unbiased source. Can you point to any studies. Do you have any personal experiences? How does it hurt people's lives? Is all porn the same? What makes it porn?

This is what I feel like doing when people keep making sweeping generalisations BUT (and I'm going out on a limb here jonny because personally I enjoy non-illegal porn) if society only saves one life as a result of banning porn, is it worth it? I would have to say yes, and I would give it up tomorrow (or at least, the day after tomorrow).

Addendum - I often wonder though why so many women get into the industry when so many women are saying it demoralises and demeans women?

If porn should be made illegal than alcohol should be made illegal. That's done far more harm, I think.

Personally, porn hasn't hurt my life any, except when other people object to its use.

Well, I can't stand what alcohol is doing to society, so I would give that up even before porn. I don't think porn has hurt my life either (unless callouses count) but again, life isn't always about oneself.

I personally think the internet is a mess. We have laws for a reason in our country. Eventually, these laws are going to have to start applying to what is happening online. What makes things difficult is the global nature of the internet. Passing a law in the US doesn't necessarily mean that it will be followed in Russia.

And that reason right there is why it's simply impossible to effeciently govern the internet. If it's illegal here, move your site so it's hosted in the servers of a foriegn country.
It's like the online gambling. I know a few people who still do it, and there are many, many loopholes in the system that allow for American citizens to still do it. The most recent law that forbids American banks and credit card companies sending money to over seas gambling sites still doesn't deter online gambling.
