please study the bible in light of why Jesus taught in parables... God hides the truth from those who aren't chosen... I guess you aren't chosen...

Do missionaries try to convert Christians?

Yes. Mormons view all non-Mormon Christian denominations as misdirected from the true teaching of God. Their emphasis when approaching Christians is on the "Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ" as revealed to Joseph Smith. In their eyes, Christianity has suffered from a "Great Apostasy" ever since the formation of the early Christian church, necessitating the revelation of Joseph Smith and, therefore, the need to spread his message throughout the existing Christian world.
Maybe if you post this one more time in another thread somewhere someone will actually figure out what it is you are trying to say by posting it.

Come on be nice to BT. He admitted that he was hasty in asseing the error and I got a little friendly jab. There is no point in picking on him further. None of us would want that done to us. Be nice.

The literature does not mention former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney by name, but is an indirect attack on him. Romney, considered by many to be one of the three GOP front-runners despite polling low, is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The eight-page diatribe is titled "Mormons in Contemporary American Society: A Politically Dangerous Religion?" It calls Mormon texts "hoaxes" and labels church founder Joseph Smith a "gold digger turned prophet."

I think that one of the political campaigns or its supporters are behind this. It was bound to happen eventually. So, who is playing the dirty games. McCain? Guiliani?
Four words: Welcome to South Carolina.

First to secede from the Union.
Last to still elect an openly prejudiced Senator.
Only state that flies a Confederate flag ON ITS CAPITOL.

So I wouldn't put it past them to pull this one.

Yes, that *totally* relates to the OP!

My son likes politics because one of his teachers is a political Christian activist who also writes in the local paper. We live in a very liberal part of the country (Pacific Northwest).
I don't get it. What exactly do you mean by that last sentence?

Good piece of advice in there. Reading that sermon puts a lot of things in perspective with our nation's history, and fundamentalist Christianity itself.

You know what's ironic about this whole thing?

Southern Baptists often are the very ones on the forefront of the Religious Right movement. Yet when they get a candidate that by and large (not completely, but largely--and therein may lie the trouble) stands for what they do, they disown him for the most ridiculous reason ever.

So much for being in the 21st century.

Bible Truth has refused to debate with me. It goes against his conscience to debate with me, since I am an LDS woman and my husband refused to give me permission to converse with an Evangelical man. When I asked him (i.e. my husband) how he would feel about becoming a member of RF and posting something to the effect that he would permit me to talk about spiritual things with BT, he looked at me like I had lost my mind. He's not really used to my asking his permission to talk. (Does that come as much of a surprise to anyone here?)
