I have several friends in my e-mail entourage who are religious-right conservative. I seldom pass on any of their most offensive propaganda e-mails, but I examine them all to find out what the Religious Right is thinking.
As you all know, the Democratic 2008 hopefull list has already grown rather large, so I am surprised at the number and viciousness of the e-mails I am getting targeting Hillory Clinton Here is an example of one of many: My Daddy My Daddy the Dancer; One day a fourth-grade teacher asked the children what their fathers did for a living. All the typical answers came up -- fireman, mechanic, businessman, salesman, doctor, lawyer, and so forth. However, little Justin was being uncharacteristically quiet, so when the teacher prodded him about his father, he replied, "My father's an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off all his clothes in front of other men and they put money in his underwear. Sometimes, if the offer is really good, he will go home with some guy and stay with him all night for money." The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other children to work on some exercises and then took little Justin aside to ask him, "Is that really true about your father?" "No," the boy said, "He works for the Democratic National Committee and is helping to get Hillary Clinton to be our next President, but I was too embarrassed to say that in front of the other kids. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It caused me to stop and think why it is that I am geting so many of them and why they are so vicious. None of them take up any issues but just slander her in the Rush Limbah manner. Perhaps it is because she, being a woman, represents to the conservative minded the "Feminazi" Cause Rush was so famous for ridiculing. It really is hard to respect a woman in power when we are social creatures evolved to respect the alpha male role. I agree with it, but I see no need to be vicious and, in that way, mean spirited and little about it.

Hey, feminazi's suck. But, petty people say petty things and this is no different. People that hate Hillary will find all kinds of reasons to hate her. I suppose it just makes way too much sense in a political election to focus on political records and political speeches, but hey... its America. Al Gore will get more press during the Oscars tonight than Edwards has gotten all year.
Again - America. We've really got our priorities screwed up.

Like I said, her only purpose can be as a lightning rod. Hopefully, she'll stay on top of the polls long enough to provide shelter for the candidates we actually want to consider running. I know I sound like an Obama fanboy, but I have to say that, if I had to consider an alternative, I'd rather see Edwards or Gore on the ticket. Hillary just draws too much fire, and this is further evidence of that. I'm sorry if anyone is actually a fan of hers, but I seriously seriously don't want to see the Dems go down in flames again.

Somehow, I believe Hillary would disagree with your assessment of her "only purpose".

I just see this as an attempt to slime her motives, nothing more. Something the Republicans do all too well. I am sure that this is indicative of the coming slime fest by the religious right who can't stand the idea of an intelligent woman being the HEAD of the country.
Now, the reasonable person would ask: why would a possible candidate for a major party want to be ONLY a lighteningrod? That is the role of the spoiler third party. She wouldn't! She has her own agenda and cotrary to the slimeologists being a lighteningrod is not part of it.

People should focus on Hillary's political record. If the far left want to burn her on her war record, that's fair game. If conservatives want to burn her about her desire to nationalize the health industry, that's fair territory too. But blasting her for being a woman or blasting her for being a lightening rod is really unfair.

Whoa, RFX! Such a forward and radical concept! You mean we should stop all the slandering and mean spirited back stabbing and evaluate the candidate on their RECORD? Good God man, this will revolutionize the whole process! I am not sure that the religious rightises wi |
