1. Who will be the next President of the United States?
2. Why?

Possibly Mitt Romney....
If he can win over the liberal people in Mass., where my wife is from, then he can win over the majority of Americans.... I've lived with a native of Mass for 16 years now and I know how they think and they are not an easy sell on anything.... How he won the hearts of those in Mass. I'll never know. Even Ted Kennedy sings his praises.... He has few enemies.... He did a wonderful job when he took over the Salt Lake winter olympics and made it into a huge success...whereas before it was a mess before he took over after the first committee was scandalized because they were involved in some bribes.... |

Bozo the clown for all I care, as long as Bush is gone for good. Well I take that back, anyone who doesn’t have some religious agenda that tries to stuff morality down our throats again either. The day that Pat Robertson gets a candidate in the presidents seat is the day I pack for either Canada or the Netherlands…

1) I don't have a name in mind, but my best guess would be a conservative Democrat from the South or Midwest.
2) The Republicans are reeling from the 2006 losses, and the last thing the Democrats should do is nominate someone far left or from the Northeast that the GOP can paint as another John Kerry-type liberal. If the last 6 years have taught us anything it's that having Congress and the Presidency in the hands of the same party is very dangerous to the budget deficit. Congress accomplished very little outside of pork barrel spending projects the last few years, and if the Democrats are able to make real progress on health care, immigration, and Iraq they will definitely be in a strong position to recapture the White House next year.

From an outsiders view looking in I hope it will be Hillary Clinton.
I think she would be a compassionate but strong president. I think she would show more humanity then Mr Bush has in his reign. I also think due to the sort of person I think she is that she will focus on the very real problem of global warming and she's one of a very small group of Americans who get how important foreign relations are and will consider other countries feelings towards problems rather than just focusing on how it will affect America! Just my 2 cents worth!

I'd hope to see Barack Obama as the next American President. He has such wonderful charisma, which is what voters - at least here - look for most in a politician. He's also young and vibrant and exudes the kind of confidence and... respectability... that enables the population to be proud of their leader.
He's basically Ahmadinejad without the fundamentalism. ![]()
