What Are Gas Prices in Your Area?
I read this week that part of the reason gas prices have gone down ($2.37 a gallon here now as opposed to $2.93 a month ago) is because the Republicans are gearing up for elections and want to look good.
What are your thoughts? Do they have so much clout they can affect gas prices?

All it takes is a recognition that the CEOs of oil companies realize that the Democrats are less friendly to them, and some Democrats have threatened that should they retake either or both houses of Congress, one of the first things they will do is open up hearings on how gas prices are set, and demand the CEOs be under oath this time. If there is any funny business going on, I don't see any need for a conspiracy between politicos and businessmen. A recognition of their business interests is quite sufficient. No one needs to talk to anyone on the phone to make it happen.

Gas prices fluctuate based on supply and demand. Summer vacation is over...demand is dropping...so do gas prices.

I was in to town early yesterday and they were at 83.9, though it could be different in the city. I read in the paper that Toronto is down to 70-something...lil buggers! lol
