Right, but wouldn't the person then have to do a lawsuit against the person who made the claim rather than the person who believed them? Thats what happens with false police reports.

And thats why I don't like this civilian report thing... Many innocent people could end up on that list...

I don't disagree with that. As for my original post about defamation lawsuits (#33), lawsuits against the reporting "victims" is what I primarily had in mind.

I don't know. Maybe its the feeling of "stuff like that doesn't happen, people like that don't live here" with a small town, only amplified because that town has only about 50 people living in it. It actually looks big on google earth.
