Well then... Starting as a poor black kid who ends up in the finest schools and ultimately the president of his nation who won the election is a political idiot and a buffoon? Not sure where that leaves the rest of us...
Guess we are all just unrecognized geniuses who if we ever tried would easily out lead and out govern this twit in your eyes eh? You can't sleep at night knowing this man is your commander in chief? Your opinion is noted but not worth a whole lot considering how ridiculous it is. The man is damn genius, fantastic leader and our first black president who was born into poverty and basically lived the american dream. Is he a paragon of virtue? Obviously not but clearly a vast improvement over the last president and clearly neither a political idiot since political idiots in the US don't usually end up as the president... (Pierce withstanding) and maybe you don't understand what a buffoon is but thought it would work here which it clearly doesn't... ![]() |

Is it really fair to zombify a 2 years' dead politics thread?
Not that I disagree with what you've said thus far, but it strikes me tacky.

Probably tacky is apt but then again perhaps their opinions have changed over time? I remember arguing with Revolt over "You didn't build that" and how silly his interpretation and stance against that was since it was obviously a mis-understanding but went on to be shocked when the RNC was basically all about this statement... Obviously Mitt has become a nationwide disaster and I am looking forward to the "Zinger Training" he will throw at Obama this wednesday but still... benefit of doubt. Some people change their opinions and perspectives shift... (Or maybe I should have just checked the date of this thread and not clicked reply... my bad. ) |

I too can't wait for the debates this week. I'm not impressed with Mitt at all and it seems he was the best of the worst the republicans had to offer. He's a moderate that they're trying to mold into a conservative and the plans he has for us are horrible and backward. Zingers won't help him as he really isn't good at it, it will make him appear immature to seriousness of the nation's situation. Hopefully we will get an understanding of his "plan". I've seen and read the one at his website and if that's what he's going to be using then we are going to see a huge step in the wrong direction for this country.

Mitt was never going to win... the debates are going to just drive that point home... He was born with a silver spoon and said when it came time to accept his parents wealth he donated it all because he made his own way and did not need it which completely discounts how it is he got there. His basic understanding of how america works is his problem. He lives in an imaginary world and honestly I'm not sure how to reveal the actual reality which is ultimately his Achilles heel... |

He can't run as a businessman because of his tax scandal and the fact that he is the one who's invested in overseas companies (i.e. China). I find this notion that a businessman can run this country laughable. Proponents of such a notion fail to realize congress is full of businessmen and many of them have failed at running this country. We've actually had presidents who were businessmen in this country during tough economic times and they were horrible. George H. Bush started (Zapata Petrolium - Penzoil) and couldn't bring us out of a financial slump. So this idea of a businessman being president is weak.
