I have a couple of issues with the Jedi code, maybe our resident Jedi could help me out?

1. There is no emotion; there is peace - true in a way, but i went though a stage of my life where i was practically emotionless, it makes it very difficult to relate to other people, and general made me feel very boring and depressed.

3. There is no passion, there is serenity - again on a similar point to above, i had no passion, it meant i was not motivated to do anything, i felt bored by everything and again it led to depression.

What do you think about this?

Yes my apprentice, help you i will. well, i dont think the code actually means NO EMOTION WHATSOEVER. emotion is beneficial, if directed the right way. The jedi code means to control your emotions, and not let them cloud your judgement. this control leads to peace. dont forget, depression is an emotion as well, albeit a very damaging one.

again, it means to control your passion to eventually attain serenity. a person devoid of passion or emotion really isnt a person anymore. If you let passion and emotion reign unhindered it may eventually destroy you. even love can do this. let it run too wild, and if you break up with the person, you will suffer.

these verses dont actually mean to be emotionless or passionless, without these, a person isnt much of a human. It has been shone that emotions and passions reigning unchecked are not beneficial. the code means to control these things.

You might want to examine why these things happened to you. Most of the time, when emotions and passions are left alone, they can lead to things such as depression. recently losing your love will create anger, loathing, sadness, all dark side emotions. most of the time this leads to depression. If a family member recently died, sadness and sometimes anger can cloud a persons judgement, again leading to depression.

Hmm, i get what you're saying, but in that case i reckon they should be reworded to 'control of' then rather than 'there is no'. But i'm just pulling hairs.
