I think that is a common mistake of many people, they think they must classify themselves or put themselves in a commonly accepted societical and intellectual box, Why? Because many people have a sincere need to conform or feel a part of this or that, forget the labels- live, believe and do what you do.
I describe myself as a Satanist (I prefer Left Hand Path) for ease of explanation and lack of a better word. Don't feel you must label or categorize yourself for the sake of others or more importantly yourself, and sure as hell don't let others make that determination for you. |

Great to meet you!! Great intro. If you have not taken the quiz Maize has suggest take it. It shows you options. It's a good test. I used it many years ago..not on the page listed but somewhere else, and eventually when to UU based in part, on it.
Sometimes knowing the question is as close as you will get in an answer and religion/beliefs is an example of that. Certainty is not a frequent occurance in our lives on the more complex questions in life. Examples outside of religion are employement. You will find very few, if any people, who have absolute job security. But you don't go to work everyday worrying about it--unless the company give you immediate reason to. The closest you can come is knowing the questions that will help you status in your job like 1) how well do you fit in the co? 2) how well is the co doing overall 3) what is your happiness level in the co....ect ect Health...a year or 5 years from now you have no certainty of your health status. But you can have an idea by knowing the general answers to your health today. It shapes the future questions. Family life..you don't know how you well do with children if you parent your own until you have them. You can narrow it down to 1) how you interact with others kids 2) how your lifestyle is now. You can any major decision like that and realize the closest answer you will get many times is understanding the question and perhaps indexing by possibiltiy or probability. Religion is in that category. But you can study what has been drawn up before and just realize that absolute certainty for most, (self included) is not a reasonalbe goal. I have just come to accept that the study of religion is the path itself and that the search is more important than the find. Giving you a set formula with answers is not gonna happen. I am thinking you already know this by the dept of areas you have touched upon in your post. Best advice I can give you is look at the opposing arguements on everything with an open mind. About your post... 1) there is a mediation thread on here Meditation hope you add your comments and insights on it. 2) To say: Quote:
3) you didn't list anything in your profile. What is your gender age location and hobbies? 4) would you mind starting a thread on the matrix philosphy you touched on? |

Dear minority of one, Welcome. Please take the time to take the quiz (link on post by Maize). It's A-Maizeing! I believe I'm developing a foot fetish. Maize, is that henna? South American? Hindi? Look what I can do!he he! I scored 100% U U. I consider myself atheist, but I believe that all things are interconnected.I see existence as a tapestry, if you pull on one thread you affect the whole. It's the journey that makes the whole thing worthwhile.Keep reading, keep asking questions, keep searching. Don't be concerned about titles. There are precious few who are inclined to investigate what makes us who we are. There are no wrong answers, only answers that fit. And when you have found your answers remember, don't, in your enthusiasm, try to impose them on everyone else. It is a personal journey. We must all find the answers that fit our own nature.peace, Faust |

But I do want to chime in on the Matrix thing. As a Christian, hubby and I followed the Word of Faith movement. If anyone is familiar with the concept and teaching of that, it can very easily parallel the Matrix concept in that "there is no spoon." So in that context, I understand what the OP is talking about. To the OP, many of your beliefs follow Hindu teachings. You obviously have a good mix of Native American, pagan, Buddhist and a few others thrown in, which probably qualifies and just good ole "New Age." Hope that helps some. ![]()

Yes, Trinity is hot!
And the spoon thing is common to many beliefs. The movie kicks butt to. I have to go take some medication before I gawk at L.N.C.'s avatar some more. ![]() |

I also am not finding a name for exactly what I believe in. So I thought I would join you in outlineing it a little in a bunch of different places and see if anything comes of it.
- I definetly believe in reincarnation: I believe that what you do in this life effects what you are as a soul but I think the DNA you get next time is just luck of the draw. I think you choose an entry for the challenges that you need to face but from where you are when choosing the view is different than here. - I believe that you work in this life in order to 'get off' the reincarnation wheel. You do this by becoming a conscious alive person rather than someone dependant on the body for a consciousness. Once the body is the servent and you can materialize or dissolve a body at will there becomes a greater arena of activity being persued. - I do actually believe that we all are God just as the master known as Jesus demonstrated and are the creators of our life. I kinda doubt we need salvation, unless salvation is becoming immortal - but such would only be a step towards further salvations unable to be seen from where we are at now. I do believe though that others before us have gone further than here. - I believe in creation and evolution and figure almost all sciectific theory is the best we know at the moment and recognize that the more we know the more our views and understandings would change.. - I believe in an inside life accessable by meditiation and many other disciplines. I love the the power of the third eye in the form of better seeing and thereby creating and evolving the universe thru the powers of imagination (creating of a Logos. I also believe in the side effects of tarot cards, palmstery, astrology and all the varied wholes that come about in any growings, in multiple and varied forms of the life that is everywhere and in all greater powers, and such past present and future. I also believe in an 'outside our time/space line' whare all already is being lived by those who adventured thru this before us whose foundations left behind we utilize. - I don't think you should oppose to another's religious beliefs and I believe in the Native Peoples (from all areas) systems and their ways as well as current existing systems being sacred and serving thier purposes. - I believe there is suppression of just what prayer to gods actually is and I believe that as you live your lives you are indeed praying by what you give your moment to moment attention to and putting your dreams, worries, joys, etc etc etc up as "god" evn tho you may protest otherwise and have a different opinion of what you are 'worshipping' - I think there have been many who actually had valuable to say. I think all religious texts are liturature some changes to be missinformation, some missunderstood and by luck unchanged and some are simply someone's unlived opinion. I think it is only your own ilife that needs to be 'read' n order to further your own beliefs realizing it is sacred and should not be taken at face value but looked at from the point of view of the 'you' that is uncomfortable with the way things are. - I believe that harmlessness is the key to admission to the greater universes and that war is the purest form of ignorance and that martial arts are also a perversion of a greater understanding essential to being physically and mentally capable and able to change moment to moment. - I believe in the world we exist there is much polarity and understand the grace of remaining in the center of the magnet allowing the power ofthe yin-yang and I believe the river of thought is indeed the life that flows in circles spirals and all the forms found to work by those who have passed this way before us. - I meditate and do a variety of disciplines obtained from a variety of scources. - I believe in the validity of dreams and other experiences in Primary Reality, I analyize them, contemplate them, wonder at them and often they predict what is going to happen to me before it does by sometimes three days sometimes less sometimes much longer and I am always suprised by how things actually unfold to fit the times places that they unfold in. - I believe almost completely in the philiosophy that is presented in the movie the Matrix for I believe the code one is captured by is thier own neuronet provided by the coded world that has captured them - I also believe in other philosophers (either in their entierty or in parts) such as the blank slate theory and the idea that the world is different for each person because we see it differently (like color blind people and such). I admit tho that the world has a greater existance separate from that which is percieved by those on Earth Well that's a short list, but it is what I worked from provided . I hope you found interest my challenge here is figuring out where I want to post at. |

What you need to do is break down that list into levels of what they pertain to. You don't have to post them all in my opinion. Just start with one line at a time and build an outline around the primary sentence.
As to where you should post them. Post them to whatever section the sentence belongs to. Let's say you are talking about Marital Arts, or War, or Physical Violence. They'd all go under "Off Topic Discussion". Meditation to the Meditation section. Scroll the browser to the bottom of the page. See the Forum Jump drop down? Look there and you will see the forums available. There's no rush is there? Then you have plenty of time to address each and every point you have listed here. IF this still doesn't help you, you can message a Moderator, Super Moderator or Admin. There's a list of them off of the main forum page. Upper left on the browser. Drop down "sitemap". Choose "Forum". You'll see a list of who's online. You can also do that from the drop down, Quick Links > Who's Online. Those user id's in brown are the moderators. In red are the Admins. Click on the username and you'll find a link to Private Message whomever it is. Hope this helps you out. Oh, I almost forgot. Make sure you check out the Forum rules. Quick Links > FAQ. Enjoy the hospitality of RF.com!!
