I had a dream last night where Sarah Michelle Gellar spoke to me (before we proceeded to do other things). She said, “Hear now the words of the Slayer. The world is in great peril and I alone cannot save it. I have chosen you as my prophet, and you must do my will upon earth. Look upon my episodes for in these is wisdom. Look upon my face and body for in these are beauty. You shall lead others on the path of righteousness, and fear no evil.”
After I woke, it occurred to me that this dream was indeed divine, and I have resolved to do all that I can to spread the message of the Slayer. My first step therefore is to compile a list of all the wisdom and life lessons that can be learned from episodes (parables) of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. I realize now that these are simply manifestations of other divine messages to the Slayer’s original prophet, his eminence Joss Whedon. As many in this forum are pious not only towards other holy figures, but also to “Buffy” I invite you to assist me in a just cause by listing any moraly lessons that can be learned from Whedon’s parables. I shall begin: ~ Beautiful women can be dangerous. (reoccurring topic) ~ Men are not always what they seem. (the hidden sides of Angel, Spike, Oz, Giles, Riley, Ted, Ben, etc.) ~ Technology and nefarious ambitions do not mix well. (Adam and the 314 project) ~ There is nothing wrong with homosexuality. (Willow and Tara) ~ Reading books and studying are worthwhile. But it helps if you read the right books. (Giles and the scoobies’ research sessions) ~ Be careful around women who were born as men. They may not be right in the head. (Ben/Glory) ~ Evil must be stopped, even if one must kill to do so. (practically every episode) ~ Stay loyal to one’s friends and family. (practically every episode) ~ Be careful what you wish for. (Anya and Halfrek…vengeance demons) ~ Players and guys who con women into bed should be repeatedly knocked unconscious. (the fate of Parker Abrams) ~ Be wary around frat boys. (reoccurring topic) ~ Alcohol is okay in moderation, but not in excess. (“Beer Bad” episode) ~ Premarital sex is fine. (reoccurring topic as the characters sleep with one another) ~ Use a condom. (“Where the Wild Things Are” episode) ~ Religious fundamentalism is dangerous. (“Where the Wild Things Are” episode) ~ Many adults are actually very childish and immature. (“Band Candy” episode) ~ Forgiveness can pay off in the long run. (the redemption of Spike) ~ Bad boys make good boyfriends only as long as they treat a girl well. (Angel) ~ There are things going on in the world that science does not yet understand. (reoccurring topic) ~ Sometimes the things we fear end up being nothing at all. (“Fear Itself” episode) ~ Cheating on one’s lover is wrong, but sometimes forgivable. (Willow/Xander discovered by Oz/Cordelia) ~ One can support our troops without supporting the government’s plan (Riley vs. The Initiative). ~ Question your government. (Buffy vs. The Initiative) ~ Even wimps can be brave, and thus their effort should be respected. (Xander, Jonathan) ~ Addiction is deadly, and friends of an addict should intervene. (Willow’s problems with magic) ~ Preachers are not always good people. (Caleb) ~ Ritual can be important, though it need not be religious. (reoccurring subject) ~ Many politicians are in fact snakes. (Mayor Wilkens) ~ Pets are people too. (Amy the rat) ~ Beware of over-zealous, self-righteous mobs of people. (“Gingerbread” episode) |

Faint, would you be one to petition that Faith gets her own split-off show?
Angel got his and it was a hit, i love it almost as much as i do Buffy, and a Faith one would be awesom!
