i'm not sure how many Quakers we have on the boards, but a Quakerism section under Christianity might be cool.
another forum i go to dealt with this issue by waiting until there was interest from a member(s) of the not-yet-included group. that way there could be discussion with people who practiced said religion, not just "outside commentary" or some such. |

That's basically what we do too, Gracie... let me see what I can do about getting a Quaker forum...

Some other religions/belief systems (with links to information on them):
Transhumanism: www.transhumanism.org Utilitarianism: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utilitarianism Discordianism: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discordianism Invisible Pink Unicorn: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invisible_pink_unicorn Otherkin: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otherkin Starseeds: http://www.paoweb.com/starwhat.htm Rainbow Family of Living Light: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_family Some people would call a bit "crazy", but probably no crazier than other more socially-acceptable mainstream religions ![]() |

http://www.otherkin.net is the semi-'official' Otherkin site, but it seems to be down currently. There's a handful of Otherkin forums as well, as well as an otherkin.org (which appears to be focused more on the vampires), various dragon-kin sites (draconic.com, for example), and probably an endless supply of animal-kin sites. The humanoid 'kin don't seem to be as numerous, or just haven't gotten around to making their own sites yet (although I did find an angel-kin forum a while back, but it's mostly inactive).

Yes, transhumanism kind of interests me
My first reaction is to dismiss it as "what a lot of superstitious nonsense!" But, where it intrigues with the beautiful philosophy of transhumanism, it intrigues me...not the spirit-vampires, or mythic languages or anything...but the one, transcendant thought of "I do not have to be a human. I can be more than that." What a powerful idea. But then with therianthropes the questions leads to, "By philosophically becoming no longer human, are you progressing into a more sublime, divine state or regressing into a more base, animal state?" Not to insult anyone who worships the nobility of the wild beast...but I think we can all agree that spiritual conversation is a lot more engaging as us big-brained humans that it would be as a pack of wolves :P Dinogrrl, are you an otherkin? Pardon me if I'm rude, just wondering ![]() |
