Dealing with Hauntings (mystic, beliefs, paranormal, faith)

I am a little curious to what extent someone could grew confortable to "weird" things taking place in ones home. I grew up in a house that gave of a lot of natural noises that may freak someone out if they actually believed in hauntings and poltergeists. We, who lived there knew that it was just the pipes in the heating system contracting and expanding, a mouse colony in the walls somewhere (these mouses just about never showed up inside the house thou). The whole house are also clad in metal sheeting and a later added brick wall outside that. Then to top it of we had a ball of lightening entering the cellar and explode down there distorting the house form somewhat, basically a ball will roll away if placed on the floor above of where the ball lightening exploded. Moving objects above of what the wind may cause thru a open window or the household cats may have done never happened thou.

So back to my question, how much may one grew used to and would any of you look for explanations beyond the normal physical plane? Am I rationalizing away things to much? All tree of my sisters have all interest in the occult and has been dabbling in attempts to see the future using cards and other stuff, they freak me out and I have told them, even if I am not a believer in such things, not to try to see my future. One of them even claimed to have "felt" a spirit of sorts in one of the rooms of the house. The house is built in the late 60ies in an area that a ago century was marshland so it's relatively newly settled even thou it may been inhabited thousands of years ago. According to my sister it seemed to be a cave man type of guy so who knows, I never felt that presence but the room in question was just a storage area anyway.

Oddly enought I did feal something strange when the family moved in to my grandfathers house after he died, leaving the old house for my brother. In the other house I did for a time feel uneasy about a certain spot that was also the central point in the whole hose, the logical place to be if you want to guard the whole building with just a single person. This just lasted for a short period of time, then suddenly ceased. I don't say that my grandfathers spirit stayed for a while but if he did, he may have realised that I got totally freaked out and then just decided to leave so to not cause more harm by lingering there. Am I talking absolute nonsense here?

I guess that I am such an oversceptic guy that I am even become sceptic about my own scepticism and thus get these uneasy feelings that maybe there actutally are something there...

Would that not lead to being opened minded , in a way ? I too am sceptic , such as you describe , and because of it I try to explain things within by looking at " normal " explainations first . But sometimes , that just doesn't seem to explain them .

On topic , I deal with " hauntings the same way I deal with most things . I let them be unless they become a personal bother . Then I address them by telling the spirit to move on , that it is no longer welcomed . It seems to have worked so far . The reason for that ? Now that is the kicker eh ? An act of will ? As in no longer giving the spirit the power to influence my life ? { which would include the use of Faith , or even the act of " no longer believing " as if it was nothing but my omagination ** ; The use of my Spiritual Helpers ? ; Or just closing my eyes to that type of thing ?

Whatever , it has worked for me .

Do you think it is possible that your involvement in occult activities could have bought these entities into your house, and the fact that you are unable to get rid of them would show that you are too inexperienced to be medling with such things if you are unable to deal with the consequences. I mean no offence by this, but you list your religion as wicca, you should learn to deal with the effects before you play with the cause.

Well you can always try contacting the haunt, how ever you wish to do this is your choice, find out what it wants/needs, if possible do it, and put it to rest. that is generally what they seek. im not an exorcist so your guess is as good as mine, i generally keep spirits around if they wish it.

I would like to ask if anyone here who is into the Supernatural has ever had any experience with a true Spirit Possession?
I have had this problem for some time and the Spirits who are doing this are people I knew when they walked the Earth and telling them to go away has not worked.
Finding an Exorcist has been impossible because its hard to convince a priest that I have such a problem when I appear so calm but the truth is behind the scenes its a different story.
I don't want to frighten anyone too much but I believe by sharing my own experience it might be helpful to tell others that the ones bothering me aren't the usual Demons they warn us about but are some of my dead relatives and a man I knew before he died unexpectedly and they wanted to channel through me exclusively but they wanted to channel bad things and I said no and that is when they decided to become possessing Spirits and make my life miserable.
I have guidesa round me who want to work and promote good things for Mankind but the others cause so many problems and refuse to leave my body and no amount of talking or arguing has helped.
its sad that people I knew would do this to me but they seem to have gotten jealous of some of the information I was getting from my Guides and so they set out to create bedlam to discourage me from working with others in the Spirit World and demanded that I be their exclusive channel which I don't want to do.
I have tried to work things out by telling them if they come out and try to do right and visit others we know in the right way perhaps after a time I could work with them but they still refuse to leave my body because they are afraid that a Higher Power in the Universe is waiting to destroy them because they read in a book written by Spiritual Writer Ruth Montgomery when a Spirit Becomes so Evil it can't be rehabilitated it is destroyed by a Higher Power which has not happened but they don't know what could happen to them if they leave my body or at least that is the excuse they use.
They also have another issue in the book written by Ruth Montgomery Spirit Writer she writes about walk-In's and says that a Higher Power has put Spirits into bodies and so these four have tried to force my Spirit out of my body so they can have it and of course that has not happened and probably never could happen.
I know this sounds like a preposterous story but every word of its true and I just thought I should share my experience with those who are interested in Communicating with the Spirit World because while there are many nice souls there there are few like the ones I am describing and I am not sure how I can ever get rid of them but I would like to see if a Priest could actually force them from my body.
Any shared experiences or suggestions will be greatly appreciated and if anyone has experiences with healing prayers or some help from their own Spirit Guides that too would be greatly appreciated.

From what little I've heard about 'walk-in's, they tend to do so when the body remains unoccupied, such as an inexperienced OBE or use by the person of alchohol or a similar substance. I would try to clarify to the spirits that yes, indeed, you prefer to have control of the body you occupy. Reinforce this with things like grounding, eating food you enjoy, and so on.
