Joyous Beltane (gnostic, pagan)

I don't really celebrate the "greater" sabbats, they don't speak to me as much as the "lesser" sabbats do. I usually just say: "Yep, it's Beltane" and that's the end of it.

Um... I thought you were in the Southern Hemisphere. When it's Beltane in the North, it's Samhain in the South, and vice versa.

True, but I like to keep the Celtic celebration as it is, regardless of what season it is in Down Under. As long as Celtic countries are celebrating Beltane, then it is good enough for me, even though we are in autumn and this is a spring festival. Beside, I am agnostic, not pagan, but I do love my Celtic mythology.

Heck! I'm even Chinese, not Irish, Scottish, Welsh, etc.

But the Celtic tradition is tied to the seasons, not the calendar. I mean, the point of the celebration is that it's Spring, not that it's May 1st.

In Maine we're still in the 50's F. We had a few 80 degree F days, but then back down to 40's. That's what I get for living way up here...

I know, Lilithu, but I'm not a farmer, so when Beltane or Samhain is held in Ireland, it's good enough for me.
