Pretty much the same, replacing moon with sun and Goddess with God. In the link that Draka gave it tells about drawing down the god in this case.

I like it because I don't have to force a relationship with the Goddess, I can still be (a type of) Wiccan without conforming to the stereotype of Goddess-worship. If that made any sense.

simple, during a blood moon I believe that thanatos is watching us, the practitioners. also the night it is happening is a prime time for ritual work.
