Hmmm.... Mary is sometimes called the "Mystical Rose" and is draped in blue in many depictions based upon alleged apparitions... I'll have to check on the tunnel or maze.
Very interesting stuff... dreams are such a window into the soul... thanks for sharing this. |

Was there any feeling in the dream that you recognized her? Did you get the feeling she was a specific goddess, or more of an archetype?

Symbolism can be a very personalized thing Halcyon . Dreams more so then when we are awake . Understanding symbolism helps us to understand the symbolism in our dreams , but what those symbols mean to you is what is important . You are never wrong about a dream .
As I said , who she is isn't as important as her message . And you have gotten that message , or will be revisited until you do . So don't let it bother you too much .

I was hoping she might have been easily recognisable to someone - beautiful if somewhat ghostly woman, pale skin, black hair, white dress. Possibly linked to nature via the blue flower, possibly with some sort of underworld via the tunnel. I'll do some more research, see if anything turns up. Thanks for the help guys.

QUAN YIN: THE GODDESS OF COMPASSION AND MERCY Quan Yin is one of the most universally beloved of deities in the Buddhist tradition. Also known as Kuan Yin, Quan'Am (Vietnam), Kannon (Japan), and Kanin (Bali), She is the embodiment of compassionate loving kindness. As the Bodhisattva of Compassion, She hears the cries of all beings. Quan Yin enjoys a strong resonance with the Christian Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and the Tibetan goddess Tara. My guess is the flower is a lotus.
