Calling on the Gods (pray, God, prayer, divine)

I was just curious if anyone called upon their gods (which ones?) for specific purposes (which?) and how often?

When I'm dealing with things related to my own personality and self, I usually ask for guidance from Persephone and the other 'maiden' goddesses. I feel a deep connection with her, as I do Kwan-Yin, Flora and Hina.

I like asking Brigid (spelled multiple ways, I know) for pride in my survival, Artemis for the ability to stand on my own, and Amaterasu for trying to recognize that it's okay to celebrate one's own light.

For courage and the channelling of righteous anger, Sekhmet is my go-to goddess. I think the same thing of Kali, though I'm less familiar with her.

Isis, Freya, Oshun and Bastet are all ones I celebrate and call upon for reminders of different types of love. (Unconditional love falls to the aforementioned Kwan-Yin.)

I fear that I'm still having issues with the divine masculine. I've been trying to heal that for some time now, and I've been doing sketches of them to try to get them in my mind a bit better.

Wouldn't any time anyone prays , in whatever form that prayer takes , be " calling upon the Gods " , or God as the case may be ?

I call upon both Isis and Osiris all the time and for multiple reasons.

Have you ever read The Witches God, by Jane and Stewart Farrar? It's an excellent books for discovering the many qualities of the masculine aspects of divinity.

I call upon my personal and only God every day and ask for inner Peace. When I can. Often I hurt so bad I can't even pray and have to rely on faith that He knows what I'm asking anyway.
