My wife is in the woods. When I'm "in a zone" I just feel really tall.

I find myself in a black void with a bonfire in front of me.
When I get to be rich, my ideal place to do ritual would be a room built like a cathedral... maybe not as high, but high enough to be very good for sound and echoes, with a large floor clear of stuff. Kat

I have a grassy place on a low cliff surrounded by trees over-looking a little private beach and the ocean with a path down to it. It is where I go to balance and center myself within my mind.

Usually, I find myself in a blackened nothingness. Then gradually things appear. Either from a self-induced OBE, or things related to what I'm meditating on. Once, I found myself on a lake shore that looked similiar to Lake Bodom in Finland.

When I meditate, I try to clear my head of all thought, all emotion, all images. Can't say I am successful all the time, but I try.

Note: I was once told that when you have an orgasm, that was a window to heaven, and that is what being in heaven feels like, all the time.
Well, when I need an instant happy place, I have practiced, and I can now close my eyes and pull memories of being with the man my heart belongs to, and I get goosebumps, and my whole body starts to tingle. It's gets easier the more I do it. This is a meditation I use for instant gratification. When I need time to reflect, it is a blank empty space, with a feeling of weightlessness. |

The only other method I have tried is one that my Mum told me about - as a way of relaxing (which I suppose is the pre-cursor to meditation).
Lie on a bed (fatal for me) - close your eyes, imagine the bed is puship up lifting your body (as opposed to you pusing the bed down), and imagine a lovely warm sheep of purple velvet, floating down slowly, as if from somewhere above - covering you, ever so light.......... Trouble is again, I fall asleep before that! ![]()

Vague , yes . Because it is very personal , I think . And besides , I think that you understand excactly what I meant . BTW , if things goes as planned , I should be seeing my friend in Woodland Park Zoo in the later part of September . Should be interesting .
