Recently I ran across a breeder that claims to breed 'Native American dogs'... what's with that? Does that claim hold any water?

Wonder if that's a more profitable breed name than "Husky?" Husky is actually a generic name for the variety of sorta wolfy looking dogs (Siberian Husky, MacKenzie River Husky and the Malemute are a few) traditionally bred and used as sled and pack dogs.

yeah we had lots of dog breeds over here... most of them are now gone.

Dogs served a variety of purposes from companionship to hauling loads, pulling sleds and as food.
some examples including the 'native american dog breed'.
