Default Dine' (Navajo) Ye'ii images

Hi,

I would first like to appologize if I spelled anything wrong. I have been told many ways not sure which is most correct.

Anyway, I have a project that I am suppose to work on at work--(myself I am a midwest white girl who works in a Southwestern Native American themed jewlery store--Spirit of the Red Horse.) Anyway I find the spiritualality in the Native American background so true to what I believe too. For my project at work I was asked to find out to find as much information on Ye'ii---Yei--spirit images- as I could because we are severely lacking in knowledge in this area. I was just wondering if any one could tell me how I can find knowledge on this subject. We are in Minnesota and all of our products come from New Mexico and Arizona so we dont have much local information readily available. Any help would be much appreicated,
thanks,
Miranda

They look a little like Kachinas ? But I couldn't say for sure . Why not e-mail the Navajo Nation and ask ? Their home page is http://www.navajo.org/ .

Hey Thanks for the replies I will do that after I finish this. I did find a good book at Barnes and Noble called "Symbols of Native America" by Heike Owusu For other reasons I went to many book stores this weekend and only found this book in one of them so you might have to find it online but its very informative.
