Any Left-Hand Path followers listen to Black Metal by any chance. I should sure hope so.
Although it isn't entirely elitist of course. Meh.

I am a huge black metal fan. I've met Satyricon. Ill post some of my favourite BM Bands.

BM is perceived as like an elitest cult, i don't agree with it, im open to new music, i even listen to the likes of James BLunt. However, many people are ignorant towards bands particularly Cradle of Filth being labelled BM and get up in arms about it. Its just music, and i love what i love. I used to be a devout LHP, but not so much anymore, i'm not really interested in classifying myself a "believer" in anything.

I love black metal. Sepultura, Behemoth, Immortal, Mayhem, Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, and Hellhammer, and Amon Amarth (allthough more Viking metal) are a few of my favorites.

Thats what i was speaking about. A lot of Black Metal fans waste their energy debating which bands are black metal bands and which arent.

Particularly Cradle of Filth, who are what i would call commercial black metal. I support their claim to black metal by stating that many of their previous members have played in other Black metal bands eg. Nikolas Barker and james Micilroy (excuse spelling).

Also given the bands you suggested, are they unique or comparable to other forms of black metal bands?

Some of them do change. Sepultura, there older stuff is black (And I love there drumming). Dimmu is a symphonic black. And I did admit Amon Amarth is Viking metal, but Viking metal does have roots in black metal. Cradle of Filth is a debated genre.

...And Oceans
Agalloch (yeah okay so they are more "post-black" but who cares...)
