Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina - The Public Broadcasting Service of Bosnia and Herzegovina today released the title of the song which Marija Sestic will sing at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in Helsinki, Finland.
The song is called Rijeka bez imena (River without a name) and will be released during a prime-time television special in Bosnia and Herzegovina tomorrow. About the song we can say very little known about it. PBSBiH has not revealed the genre, nor even the tempo, but sources at the Slovenian studio where the song was recorded have told the press it is an up-tempo ballad.

Yeah, "Sound of Rivers" is the theme for this year. Last year was "It's time for Bosnia and Herzegovina" - hahaha.
It all reminds me of that scene from Drop Dead Gorgeous. "The theme this year is PROUD to be an AMERICAN! Last year it was Made in America, and the year before that it was Amer...I CAN! I don't know where I get these from, a gift from God or something."

I JUST heard it, Yugo!
I got a fright, the beginning of the show she sang Waterloo and sucked. But Rijeka bez imena is GORGEOUS! Yes it's a ballad - with traditional instruments in the background. It has a classical kind of feel, more classical than ethnic, for certain. The vocals are up and down, you know? It's not rigid, clearly laid out verses and chorus, it's kind of a slow climb to the climax and then the end of the song - sort of like Lejla that way. There's an instrumental bit in the middle that's nice. It's a respectable entry, for sure. And her singing was flawless!Last edited by Djamila; 03-04-2007 at 01:30 PM. |

Alenka Gotar (Slovenia, 2007) is now singing Cvet z Juga (Flower of the South), Slovenia's entry.
She was interviewed in Bosnian (Slovenian and Bosnian are different enough that it's actually mildly difficult to converse), and the Bosnian host - Nijad whoever - couldn't say "Cvet z Juga" right. And Alenka said "Welcome to Bosnia" to us... LOL Instead of herself. Hahaha. But the song is EXCELLENT!!! SLovenia is going to do well this year! |

Dmitry whoever, who is representing Belarus this year, is now singing. It's funny. He's this short, cute little thing singing this Monster-rock-style-voice soft rock song. lol
He said Sarajevo is "lovely and quiet" and he "loves all sorts of contests". Hahaha. The hostess, Maja Cengic, is obviously aroused by him. lol |
