Elma Hamzic, a Bosnian Muslim from Sarajevo, fled Bosnia and Herzegovina during the war and settled in Spain.
There she established a music career that has sold more albums than any Spanish immigrant ever has. She also lived for a time in New York City, but left after George W. Bush was elected the second time. Now she's released a second album in the Bosnian language and has purchased a home in Sarajevo. She said she loves Spain, and she loves America, but she doesn't feel she truly belongs anywhere else. That said, the Celine Dion of Spain will always be more famous in Spain than in Bosnia, and here's a little look at why that is...
