What are some of your favorite, passionate, angry songs?
My most recent favorite is probably "Gdje je moja raja", by Neda. It means "Where are my people", and the lyrics are about how Sarajevo is different without them. Very, very angry song. The verses are done with a very strong, traditional Islamic flair but the chorus is practically heavy metal by Bosnian standards. Beautiful piece! http://www.sarajlije.homelinux.com/m...ajlije.com.mp3 Sve one godine bez bola i tuge ostase Svi dani srece vratit se nece i boljet ce Sarajevo, Sarajevo gdje je moja raja, gdje je moja raja Dal’ nas ista ljubav spaja, da li smo jos raja, da li smo jos raja Proljece zove al’ behara nema k’o nekada Miris sa Igmana dusu mi opija u snovima Sarajevo, Sarajevo gdje je moja raja, gdje je moja raja Dal’ nas ista ljubav spaja, da li smo jos raja, da li smo jos raja

Jim Steinman's "Life is a Lemon and I Want My Money Back," as sung by Meat Loaf.
" It's all or nothing And nothing's all I ever get Everytime I turn it on I burn it up and burn it out It's always something There's always something going wrong That's the only guarantee That's what this is all about It's a never ending attack Everything's a lie and that's a fact Life is a lemon and I want my money back! And all the morons And all the stooges with their coins They're the ones who make the rules It's not a game - it's just a rout There's desperation There's desperation in the air It leaves a stain on all your clothes And no detergent gets it out And we're always slipping through the cracks Then the movie's over -fade to black Life is a lemon and I want my money back!"

Here are a couple of my favorites. I'm computer illiterate so I don't know how to make the lyrics appear on the post, but (hopefully) these links will work:

Alanis Morisette in her jagged little pill album, it's been ages since I last listened to any of her music.

How do you cool your lips after a summer's kiss
How do rid the sweat after a body's bliss How do you turn your eyes from a romantic glare How do you block the sound of a voice you'd know anywhere Oh, I really should've known by the time you drove me home By the vagueness in your eyes, your casual goodbyes By the chill in your embrace, the expression on your face that told me Maybe you might have some advice to give on how to be insensitive How do you numb your skin after the warmest touch How do you slow your blood after a body's rush How do you free your soul after you've found a friend How do you teach your heart it's a crime to fall to love again Oh, you probably won't remember me, it's probably ancient history I'm one of the chosen few who went ahead and fell for you I'm out of vogue, I'm out of touch, I fell too fast, I feel too much I thought that you might have some advice to give on how to be insensitive

Christmas Eve, Sarajevo
Trans-Siberian Orchestra http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=El1mAA9l9W0 This song became a Roman Catholic classic in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it's instrumental but very rough and bitter in response to the Serbian practice of bombing Roman Catholic Churches on Catholic Christmas Eve (Dec. 24, the Serbian Christmas is January 7).
