Default Vocal Styles: East and West

Eastern music is often characterized by a different style of vocals than is found in Western music, even among people who were undeniably Western - Bosniaks, as an example.

It's really hard to explain, but it's easier to demonstrate.

Here's a sample of typical, Eastern-style vocals from an Azerbaijani singer. This song, Ceke Ceke, became a club hit throughout Southeastern Europe and Central Asia.

What do you think about the chaotic styles of Eastern vocals, and how would you contrast them with what I consider to be more... structured... Western styles, where the words roll away softly and without different emphasis.
