Default Music association with specific activities

I'm sure we all have experienced this: you hear a song, and instantly a memory comes flooding back to you - happy or sad - related to that song.

Please share some here and share what strange events you remember when you hear it!

Whenever I hear Muko moja I remember a summer vacation to Neum, my first time going without an adult. Eva, Neva, Nadija, Ljdia, Katija, Ajsa, and I sat around a fire on the beach, Ajsa was playing a guitar, and we sang this song in the dark - it was so much fun.

Ilujzia is the song that was pounding at the nightclub where I worked when a young man came up and ordered a drink from me. He was smiling so uncomfortably, and after our transaction was finished - he kept turning around as her walked away and smiling. I finally said, "Hej? What's wrong?" and he said: "Oh, nothing's wrong. Your smile makes me want to smile." And before I knew it, I was married.

Eh kad bi bila s tobom ja is the song I won the karaoke contest at Sloga singing. After the first verse, everyone stood and cheered and clapped for the rest of the song - which was so amazing because it's not the type of bar where standing feels normal.

Dina hayek is the song that was playing on the radio, during Arabic Hour, when I had the worst car accident of my life - and I've had a few .

now ::that:: is a story.

i remember listening to NPR, and they were playing all these old recordings of New Years' celebrations from the WTC over the years. it was either ushering in or out the year 1995, when the band was playing Auld Lang Syne very slowly and sweetly. 1995 is the year my father passed away and has always made me kind of sad anyway- i was driving at the time and had to pull over. just alot of stuff. remembering looking at the WTC across the Hudson as a little kid, remembering me and my dad going into New York, and remembering 1995. it was a powerful thing to listen to.

I am playing some 'cry' music.........

I didn't think it would still affect me, but it does. Anyone been "There".....late at night, half cut on booze, feeling really sorry for yourself, listened to the most miserable music you can ?

I have!

Not as good as when I am drunk....(which, hopefiully I shan't be for as long as I can try each day not to get like that).Tammy wynette, Charle Rich, Charlie Pride, Jim Reeves.........

I have far more "cry" music than happy music; how about you guys?
