Now what Was the name of that movie?

I am guessing here that I am not the only one that saw a movie years ago, I can remember almost the entire movie but for the love of me can I remember the name.
So I am putting this out there for all you movie buffs maybe some other can share monvies that they can't remember the name.
One is about a child and their horse. No folks not National Velvet) but every afternoon the horse would leave home and meet the child at the school gate. For some reason the horse had to be sold and taken many miles away the movie is about the trials of the horse's attempt to return. the movie ends when the school bell rings and the horse who has just travelled miles gallops off to meet his master at the school gate.
