I wish. Mighty Jack is a terrible, convoluted, espionage/sci-fi Japanese mess with model spaceships produced by the “master of hokey”, Sandy Frank.
The Corpse Vanishes (MST3K Version) DVD/ B&W/ 64 Mins./ NR/ 1942 Dr. Lorenz (Bela Lugosi), a mad scientist, wants to keep his elderly wife young. He does this by kidnapping young females and extracting fluid from them. He then injects this fluid into his wife. What a diabolical guy! I was also treated to an episode of the classic serial Commander Cody. |

I am starting to notice a trend in movies that deal with people becoming stricken. It may have started with The Happening, followed through with Blindness and is continuing with Quarantined.

I've noticed that too. I've also noticed people are using the "Blair Witch" effect a lot more: Cloverfield, Quarantine and some other movie about a serial killer that videotaped his victims, that came out earlier this year (I can't remember the name). Even Vacancy, which came out a year or two ago used the same effect throughout the movie.

The Happening
M. Night Shyamalan should stop making movies. Or better yet, I should stop watching them. That was one of the worst movies I'd ever seen. A Twilight Zone hour long, heck even half hour long, episode would have been a much better fit for such a story. Serling, Matheson or Beaumont could have turned out a good script. I think anyone could have written a better story than Shyamalan.

RELIGULOUS
Theater/ Color/ 101 Mins./ R/ 2008 No religion is safe from the sharp aim--and still sharper wit--of Bill Maher in this comic look at organized belief systems around the world. This controversial documentary is directed by Larry Charles, who previously made both fans and foes with BORAT. |

Legends of the Fall - I love that movie!
Rambo 2 - IMHO the best of the series. Incidentally both Tristen and Rambo make good use of their huge knives.
