Root of all evil was good, but everyones seen that. I like to watch this thing called Mythbusters on discovery. Its these two wacko guys going through common everyday myths and trying to disprove them. One was "Can you really make a bullet out of ice?" So funny, they made on out of meat

It is really hard to find but I would recommend, "We Can Keep You Forever". It is a 1988 documentary on the POW/MIA situation in Vietnam after the US pullout in 1975. What I liked about it is how unbais and neutral the moive was sticking to evidence and factual info and presented credible theories based on the evidence and facts. The movie talked about the monetary demands of the Vietnamese, and the US repsonse to that. Their were no actors in the movie. Instead people who were directly or indirectly involved were interviewed. I believe the Vietnamese wanted 9 billion in war damages in exchange for POW's and the USA refused. Some of the theories presented were:
1)Vietnam sold some of the air force pilots to Russia. 2) Cambodia and Laos had american Pow's from secret missions that elite units preformed in those countries 3) The CIA had a list of known POW's but later the list "dissapeared" 4) Engineers from European counteries in the 1980's saw "american slaves" working in the fields of Vietnam. 5) One POW's message written in a field giving his name and rank in code was photoed by a US spy plane ( I believe it was a spy plane) 6) The goverment of Vietnam sat down with US negociaters after the pullout and tried to trade POW's for money they felt was owed to them for war reparations and the US refused to trade any money for the POW's. I haven't seen the documentary in years but it is about 90 minutes long and they interview some really relevant people like ex-pows, CIA officers, green berets who served in vietnam and the Euro engineers who saw american slaves. I felt the presentation and theories were very strong in the documentary. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0182528/ |
